Career Project
The last big project for AVID students is the Career Project. The information sheet can be downloaded by clicking here to go to Mrs. Neubert's website. Download the pdf for Career Project and Career Project Organizer.
For this project, students need to pick two careers they are interested in. They need to fill out the Career Project Organizer by the specific due dates. If the organizer is filled out on time, students will receive a stamp for each part. (There should be a total of FIVE stamps on the organizer.) They will write an essay on both careers, create a "layered-look" book, and present their books to the class.
Important due dates are:
Career Project Organizer
Pick careers due Friday, 4-10-09
Reason why due Friday, 4-10-09
References due Friday, 4-10-09
Answers to questions due Thursday, 4-23-09
Compare/contrast careers due Thursday, 4-23-09
Essay due Tuesday, 5-5-09
Layered-Look Book due Tuesday, 5-5-09
Email Mrs. Neubert at neubert_l@auhsd.us if there are any questions.

Fun Friday Skits
For team building on Friday, the 9th grade AVID students broke into groups of three to four students. They then created skits about specific "random" things that three students picked in each class. In period 1, students had to create skits that had something about a cow, a dog, and a hippie. In period 3, students had to include something about balloons, shoes, and rollie pollies.
No pictures were taken of the skits, but all skits were very entertaining and fun.
